Mark was born and raised in Perth’s northern suburbs. He served in the WA Police between 1983 and 1994, and was attached to a variety of different areas including traffic, general duties policing and finally as a detective.

Deearnah was born and raised in Perth's southern suburbs. Deearnah was admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 2018 after completing a Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Criminology and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice.
